Apple OK With the Technology Borrowing Thing, but Not by HTC (Video)

Steve Jobs was quoted saying that “Good artists copy, Great artists steal”, a phrase originally belonging to Picasso. The Apple main man said this back in 1996 to justify the success of the Macintosh series and you can see the video interview that includes this phrase below. Is it OK for Apple to steal, but not for HTC, as we’ve learned here?

While Jobs said “We have always been shameless in stealing great ideas…” back in 1996, in 2010, he sounds something like “We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it.” So, if Apple steals, it’s OK, but if HTC does so (and we’re not saying they did), then the world falls apart.

Well, isn’t Apple a bag full of contradictions and hypocrisy…
